All pieces are hallmarked over the legal weight. If a precious metal item weighs less than a certain amount it is not compulsory to apply a hallmark. If you'd like your piece to be hallmark and is under the weight threshold then this can be done for a fee.

The minimum weight thresholds are:

  • Gold 1 gram
  • Sterling Silver 7.78 grams

How do I look after my ashes jewellery?

Great care must be taken with your precious piece of jewellery. You will receive a care kit your order which includes care instructions, an anti tarnish bag and polishing cloth.

  • Polish with the cloth provided whenever it needs it.
  • Avoid spraying your piece directly with lotions, perfume, hand sanitiser. wait till products have dried before putting them on.
  • Remove when washing. The resin is water resistant but not waterproof, persistent exposure to water can lead to damage of the inclusion.
  • Remove when swimming and using hot tubs. The chemicals and heat can damage the inclusion and cause tarnishing to the metal.
  • When not wearing your jewellery store the piece in the anti tarnish bag provided, avoid storing it with other metals.
  • Avoid direct heat like sunbathing in very hot weather, saunas and sun beds.

Can I get my jewellery wet?

I highly recommend removing your jewellery for washing and definitely for swimming or hot tubs. Chemicals and the heat in the water will damage the inclusion. If you do get your jewellery wet then don't panic just rinse under cold water and make sure to dry the inclusion throughly afterwards. Hand washing isn't a huge deal as long as its not hot water and not submerged.
